Dance Etiquette

New to dancing?

We welcome everyone to come dance with us - no experience needed! If you are a first-timer, WELCOME! We want you to feel inspired, NOT discouraged, so please know that we ALL started out as “newbies.” Most importantly, please remember that we are all here to have FUN, regardless of whether we’ve been regulars for years or not.

Who to Dance With

We encourage you to ask anyone to dance - it’s a great way to meet people!

General Tips

  • Anyone can ask anyone else to dance, regardless of gender or dance role.

  • It’s perfectly fine to accept or decline dances anytime for any reason.

  • You don’t need to bring a partner - we rotate often in classes, and our dances are social and relaxed, with lots of friendly people happy to dance with a variety of others. Bring your friends!

  • Dancing is good exercise, so feel free to wear what makes you comfortable and lets you move.

Issues / Concerns?

If you feel uncomfortable or any other issues or concerns arise, please speak with a board member. (Check the “Information boards” for photos and names of board members, or tell the DJ or a front desk volunteer, and they will find one.)
